What is the OBD II fault code p0638?
OBD II fault code P0638 is a generic code that is defined as “Throttle actuator control, Bank 1 -range/performance problem”, and is set when the PCM (Powertrain Control Module) detects a problem with the operation of the throttle control actuator on drive-by-wire systems.
Is the throttle actuator on the Fiat p0638 working?
New throttle body (FIAT recon unit) worked for 2000 miles or so, then P0638 returned intermittently. I have checked every conceivable wire to the unit, plus others that link to other items such as oil level control ecu (on bracket for main engine ECU ). Tried earthing individual wire to throttle body earth = fault still occurred.

Is there a problem with Suzuki Grand Vitara p0638?
I have a problem with a Suzuki grand vitara 1.9ltr. ddsi diesel fault code po638. Have replaced the throttle body & cleaned the EGR. (the throttle body was clean no carbon) Then put that back together cancelled the code with small scanner (now no code showing)but light stayed on & still in lim… po121 a, b po638, po221 I have a jetta 2001 2.0.

Where is the fault code on a Ducato?
This is an aluminium elbow with an electrical connection underneath and it is located at the front of the engine between the head and the radiator assembly above the inlet manifold. Early versions of this vehicle have had many problems with throttle bodies and by now i would have thought that the majority have been changed for the later version.

Why is my throttle valve not working on my Ducato 160?
Hi there,am also having trouble with throttle valve on my Ducato 160 engine.Does anyone have the part numbers for the new throttle and cable so I can order them from Iveco,apparantly 30% cheaper.Many thanks The X250 plastic engine cover is on the 3 litre at least inadequate.
